High river levels are expected to cause flooding today. Flooding is expected on 18 December 2025 . Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Sheppey , with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the area around Charlton Viaduct, the Cider Factory and Draycott Road in Shepton Mallet and the area around Jack's Bridge in Croscombe. Further rainfall is forecast at the weekend, 21/22 December. We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing blockages from debris screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 3:00PM on 19 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
