High river levels are expected to cause flooding today. Flooding is expected on Saturday 24 October . Heavy rain has fallen throughout the day and is expected to continue for some time into the evening. Properties and low lying areas may experience flooding from around 9 pm on Saturday. Property and highway flooding expected at: Winsford, Bridgetown - The Old Chapel and Mill House, Exe Valley Caravan Site, Chilly Bridge, and the B3223. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 9 pm and 12 am. We are closely monitoring the situation . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 6:00PM on Sunday 25 October or as the situation changes.

Flooding is expected tonight into the early hours of Saturday. Heavy rain has fallen in the area which has caused the River Exe to rise, and the river is forecast to continue rising. Riverside locations and roads in Winsford and Bridgetown, and other localised riverside properties and roads between Exford and Exebridge will start to flood first. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
