River levels have begun to rise again on the River Rother as a result of this morning’s rainfall (24/10/2023). Pumps have been deployed in the area and will become operational should there be a need for them.
While the current overall risk is greatly reduced, further rainfall is forecast today, 24/10/2023. As such, we expect river levels to begin to respond and rise further during the afternoon and into the evening, peaking late Tuesday night (24/10/2023).The current forecast does not indicate a risk of further flooding. Throughout Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday, 24/10/23, river levels on the River Rother have been falling. Pumps have been deployed in the area and will become operational should there be a need for them.
While the current overall flood risk is greatly reduced, further rainfall is forecast throughout Tuesday. As a result, we expect river levels to begin to respond and rise again during Tuesday afternoon and into the evening of 24/10/23.

Flooding continues in this area following the persistent heavy rain from Storm Babet yesterday, Friday 20th October.
River levels have continued to rise very slowly through today as water has made its way down the catchment. We expect levels to start to slowly fall overnight and through Sunday and Monday. We are liaising closely with our partners including planning pumping water away once the river levels drop enough to allow this.
Where possible avoid contact with flood water and walking or driving through flood water.
