River levels are rising in the River Sheaf due to persistent rainfall. Flooding in areas adjacent to the river is likely early this afternoon, 20th October 2023. Affected areas may include Woodseats Road, Abbeydale Road, Grasmere Road, Thirlmere Road, Windermere Road, Little London Road, Woodseats Close, Broadfield Road, Chippinghouse Road, Sheaf Bank, Gleadless Road and Oak Street. As rainfall is expected throughout today, river levels are expected to remain high. Our incident rooms are open, and we are closely monitoring the situation.
