River levels at Mexborough Lock continue to fall. As levels are still high, this warning remains in force. Although we are not expecting any further significant rainfall, our incident response staff are monitoring the forecast from our incident room. Please visit GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. River levels at our Mexborough Lock river level gauge peaked on 08/11/2019 and have continued to fall since then. Levels will remain high so this warning remains in force. The weather should be mainly dry on Saturday and Sunday with no significant rain forecast on these days. River levels have risen as a result of the persistent heavy rainfall yesterday (07/11/2019) and throughout the night. Further showers are forecast over the next 24 hours however we do not expect this rainfall to cause any further impacts to the river levels and levels have peaked so therefore slowly falling. We do expect river levels to remain high until around 07:00 on 09/11/19. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast and our incident room is open.
