River levels have risen as a result of persistent (heavy) rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible from 04:00, into the morning (21/02/2022). Areas most at risk are Swinton Bridge. We expect river levels to remain high throughout today 21/02/2022.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closely monitoring the forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and put your flood plan into action.

River levels at Mexborough Lock continue to fall. As levels are still high, this warning remains in force.
Although we are not expecting any further significant rainfall, our incident response staff continue to monitor the situation. Please visit GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. River levels at our Mexborough Lock river level gauge peaked on 08/11/2019 and have continued to fall since then. Levels will remain high so this warning remains in force. The weather should be mainly dry on Saturday and Sunday with no significant rain forecast on these days. Levels will remain high so this warning remains in force, however, the risk of flooding to properties has reduced. The weather should be mainly dry on Saturday and Sunday with no significant rain forecast on these days. River levels continue to remain high as a result of the persistent rainfall over the last couple of days. Consequently, the risk of flooding of property and roads across Swinton Bridge remains. Levels are peaking and should start to fall slowly over the next 8 hours.

Consequently, the risk of flooding of property and roads across Swinton Bridge remains. Further showers are forecast over the next 24 hours however we do not expect this rainfall to cause any further impacts to the river levels and river levels are slowly falling.
