River levels have risen at the Hayhurst Bridge river gauge in Northwich as a result of persistent rainfall overnight. Consequently, flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is possible this afternoon, going into this evening. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the Rivers Weaver, Ducklow and Wheelock and their tributaries. The forecast for river levels at Hayhurst Bridge is expected to peak around 23:00 tonight 28th January. Our current forecast indicates that will issue a Flood Warning for River Weaver at Acton Bridge and Weaverham. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further updates where necessary. We are currently operating Phase 1 Flood Defences in Northwich, Phase 2 will be deployed later today, Wednesday 20/01/2021.
