Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 28 February 2026 .  River levels are rising sharply at Polesworth and will continue to do so through Saturday afternoon and evening. As a result flooding is possible along the River Anker. Flooding may affect properties and roads in the Tamworth Town Centre area including Stationfields Park Homes, Amington Road and Moor Lane.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Stay away from floodwater - it contains hidden dangers such as open manhole covers, sewage and chemicals . Activate any flood protection products you have.  This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 01 March 2026 or as the situation changes.

River levels have peaked but remain high at the Polesworth river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in the Tamworth Town Centre area including Stationfields Park Homes, Amington Road and Moor Lane. No further rainfall is forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
