River Churnet
River levels have risen at the Leek river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible this evening and overnight, 07/12/24. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in the Wall Bridge, Sunnyhills Road and the A53 areas. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid contact with flood water and call 999 if in immediate danger. This message will be updated by 12:00 on 08/12/24, or as the situation changes.
