River levels have risen at the Stourbridge river gauge as a result of heavy localised showery rainfall. Further heavy showery rainfall is forecast over the next few hours. Over the last 12 hours heavy persistent rain has fallen over the River Stour and Smestow Brook catchments which has resulted in river levels rising. Further heavy rain overnight and into tomorrow (Monday 15th October) has been forecasted. There may be flooding to low lying land and roads tomorrow (Monday 15th October) in this area. The Met Office have issued an AMBER weather warning for rain between 16:48 and 21:00 this evening (Sunday 27 May), due to the potential for thunderstorms across the midlands. This Flood Alert is therefore being issued as a PRECAUTION. These thunderstorms could result in the rapid rising of river levels and the rapid flooding of low lying land and roads.
