Flood water is still affecting the caravan sites close to the River Colne in West Drayton.
Despite some further rainfall overnight, river levels have continued to fall. Some further rain is forecast today Thursday 8 October, particularly in the morning. However, further flooding is not expected.
Our incident response staff will be on site again today to continue our investigation into the cause of the flooding. We will be carrying out any further pumping of water that is required and further securing the site with a small sandbag wall next to the River Colne where there may be a low spot in the river bank.
Flood water may be deep and fast flowing. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation. This message will be updated this evening, or as the situation changes.

Flood water is still affecting the caravan sites close to the River Colne in West Drayton.
River levels have continued to fall throughout the day however some rain is forecast overnight and into tomorrow morning, Thursday 8 October. Further flooding is not expected but we will be monitoring the situation closely.
Our incident response staff have been on site today to continue our investigation into the cause of the flooding. We have been pumping water away from the site and have built a small sandbag wall next to the River Colne where there may be a low spot in the river bank. This pumping is likely to continue overnight and into tomorrow whilst the site recovers.
Flood water may be deep and fast flowing. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

Today, Wednesday 7 October, will be mostly dry, so river levels should continue to slowly fall. Some rain is forecast later this evening and into tomorrow (Thursday), however more flooding is not expected.

In response to the heavy rainfall we have seen over the weekend, we have seen flooding in the West Drayton area, specifically in and around the caravan parks off Thorney Mill Road.
London Fire Brigade have been on site overnight and we will be attending site again today (Monday 5 October) to further assess the situation.
River levels remain high but are stable. Some light rain is possible today. The risk to properties near the river along Thorney Mill Road is expected to remain.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in this area. Residents are strongly urged to take action now.

In response to the heavy rainfall we have seen over the weekend, we have seen flooding in the West Drayton area, specifically in and around the caravan parks off Thorney Mill Road.

River levels have risen along the River Colne in response to this weekend’s heavy rainfall. We are aware of reports of flooding in the West Drayton Area, specifically along Thorney Mill Road. We have incident response staff in the area working alongside London Fire Brigade.
Further light rainfall is forecast this evening, but river levels are expected to start falling. Flooding to low lying land and roads is still expected and the risk of properties along Thorney Mill Road is expected to remain.
