This Flood Warning has been issued due a combination of high spring tides and a storm surge following Storm Lilian moving across the North East. The high tide time is forecast at 06:15 on 23/08/2024, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Flooding is expected at properties including Whitley Sands Refreshment Kiosk, Robinson Crusoe's Cafe at Tynemouth Longsands, Tynemouth Sailing Club and the area at Cullercoats Bay around the Lifeboat Station and the Dove Marine Laboratory. After the high tide tomorrow morning‚ the weather is more settled and no further flood warnings are expected for following tides on Friday and Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. For tomorrow afternoon’s high tide, wave overtopping is forecast between 4:15 PM and 6:30 PM on 09/04/2024. Property flooding is expected including Whitley Sands Refreshment Kiosk, Robinson Crusoe's Cafe at Tynemouth Longsands, Tynemouth Sailing Club and the area at Cullercoats Bay around the Lifeboat Station and the Dove Marine Laboratory tomorrow between 03:30 AM and 06:00 AM on 07/11/2021. Flooding is possible 2 to 4 hours either side of this time. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the weekend and as a result we may issue further alerts/ warnings for subsequent tides on Sunday, 07/11/2021. We will continue to work with emergency services and local authorities and to keep closely monitoring the situation. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Tides will be at their highest between 17:00 and 19:30 today, 13/02/2020, however flooding may be possible due to waver overtopping for two to four hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk include Whitley Sands Café and Promenade. We are closely monitoring the situation. Tides will be at their highest between 03:00 and 06:00 tomorrow morning (Monday 10th February). Areas most at risk are Properties including Whitley Sands Refreshment Kiosk, Robinson Crusoe's Café at Tynemouth Longsands, Tynemouth Sailing Club and the area at Cullercoats Bay around the Lifeboat Station and the Dove Marine Laboratory . Flooding to properties, roads and farmland is expected at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk are beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads. Please be careful along the coast and stay away from large waves as they are dangerous.
