River levels have fallen overnight following yesterdays heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. There may be isolated showers throughout the day and further showers are forecast throughout the week, so please remain vigilant and continue to monitor the forecast. It is not possible for us to know where these storms could occur, so please remain vigilant and monitor your own local weather conditions. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely, liaising with our professional partners, and have staff out checking for and clearing blockages. Water levels on the Rivers Anker and Sence have been steadily falling overnight but levels still remain elevated. Levels are expected to continue falling slowly today, however there remains the chance of isolated heavy showers today which may cause river levels to rise. River levels have risen on the River Anker and River Sence as a result of a band of heavy showery rain passing through the catchment yesterday afternoon and evening. This has resulted in river levels rising in this area today, Saturday 31st March. There may be flooding to low lying land and roads in the area. Two flood warnings for the River Sence from Temple Mill to Sheepy Magna and River Anker at Mancetter, Witherley and Atherstone have already been issued. Remain vigilant as further rain is expected on Monday 2 April which may lead to further flood risk. We will continue to monitor river levels in this location.

As a result of todays rainfall, river levels have risen on the River Anker and River Sence with flooding to low lying land and roads now expected. River levels are expected to remain high throughout the evening and overnight. No flooding of property is currently expected. Further rainfall is expected throughout this morning. As a result, River levels are expected to remain high in this area and there may be flooding to low lying land and roads. River levels are expected to remain raised throughout the remainder of today, so this Flood Alert will remain in force. Due to the heavy and persistent nature of this rainfall additional flood risk may occur, we will continue to monitor the situation and will issue Flood Warnings where required.
