Offshore waves are expected to be moderate to large. Be careful on coastal footpaths, roads, low lying land, close to the estuary. Be careful as sea spray and waves could be dangerous and could contain debris, particularly in exposed locations. Please take additional care over the periods of high tides due to the risk of debris and wave overtopping at exposed locations.

Following the passage of Storm Ciara, wind strengths, tidal surge and wave heights remain high but are generally dropping slowly for the peak of the Spring tides on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of February. However, impacts are still expected around the coast so please continue to avoid the coastal roads liable to flooding in this area at high tide. The weather patterns remain unsettled this week so we will continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as the situation changes.

Tides are rising towards a period of spring tides. In tide tables, these peak on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of February. Values in tide tables for Sunday are not especially large, however, they are forecast to coincide with storm Ciara; this storm is expected to create strong winds, tidal surge and large waves. Impacts are expected from Sunday morning into next week as the unsettled weather is expected to continue - please avoid coastal roads in the Crofty area around high tide throughout this period.
