Flood Alert issued on 6 Dec 2018 17:13
South West
A band of heavy rain will pass through the Afan and Kenfig catchments between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM on Friday the 7th of December. The River Afan is expected to exceed the flood alert level between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM and a peak level is expected at 7:00 AM on Friday the 7th of December. There is still some uncertainty about the rainfall distribution over this period and therefore the timing and magnitude of flood peaks may change during the intervening period. The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land during the next 24 hours.
