Monday's early morning tide at 01:30 on 31/03/2025 is higher than normal, with light North Easterly Force 3 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.21 m. The total forecast tide is 5.40 metres Chart Datum (2.66 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding will affect Shore Road and a small number of properties in Bosham High Street and Gloucester Terrace. Water will reach the top of slipways in West Itchenor. Monday afternoon's tide at 13:45 on 31/03/2025 is forecast to be 40 cm lower (2.26 mAOD). No further flood impacts are expected Monday afternoon, or through next week. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:30 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal, due to unsettled weather with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.74 m. The total forecast tide is 5.91 metres Chart Datum (3.17 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 2 hours either side of high water, deep flooding will occur at Shore Road, Bosham High Street and Gloucester Terrace. Water will seep over the tidal embankments into fields at West Itchenor where isolated properties near to and including the sailing club are likely to be flooded. The southern part of Shore Road, near and including Stumps Lane could also see impacts. Tuesday's tide at 12:30 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (2.57 mAOD). Minor flood impacts will still be possible, affecting Bosham Shore Road and Bosham High Street Tuesday afternoon. We continue to monitor the forecast. Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves increase tide table values by 0.56 m. The total forecast tide is 5.28 metres Chart Datum (2.54 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding will affect Shore Road and a small number of properties in Bosham High Street and Gloucester Terrace. Water will reach the top of slipways in West Itchenor. Friday evening’s tide will be 50 cm lower than the Friday and Saturday afternoon tides. Strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. After Saturday, the next highest tide is forecast to be 20 cm lower, on Monday afternoon. However, spray and minor flood impacts will continue this weekend. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Friday afternoon's tide at 12:00 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Severe Gale Force 9 Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.71 m. The total forecast tide is 5.39 metres Chart Datum (2.65 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding will affect Shore Road and a small number of properties in Bosham High Street and Gloucester Terrace. Water will reach the top of slipways in West Itchenor. Friday evening’s tide will be 50cm lower. However, strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. Saturday’s midday tide could see a return of minor flood impacts, when tide levels could be similar to midday Friday. We continue to monitor the forecast.
