Flood Warning issued on 12 Nov 2023 15:22
Aldingbourne Rife
The Aldingbourne Rife is high but slowly falling. Flooding is thought to still be affecting the Tesco car park on Shripney Road, land and caravans at Riverside Caravan Centre and Rowan Park Caravan Park, and areas of Durban Road. Water will still affect fields near Shripney Lane and the A259. Only a small amount of rain (5-10mm) is forecast Sunday, which should only cause river levels to rise by a few centimetres, if at all. However a further 10-15mm of rain is forecast for Monday, which could cause river levels to rise again, possibly by 10cm. With the rest of November forecast to remain unsettled, the Aldingbourne Rife might not return to normal until the end of November. Some roads will be affected by flood water, please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding, including Shripney Lane. We are running our pumps at Felpham and keeping grilles clear to help reduce the risk of flooding. We will update this message by 11:00 13/11/2023.
