Friday’s tides at 01:45 and 14:00 13/3/2020 will be at least 10cm lower than experienced on Wednesday and Thursday. With wave heights increasing from Thursday night however, minor flood impacts may remain similar to recent days. The strong Force 7 Westerly winds will increase tide table values by 0.2m. The total forecast tide is 5.97 metres Chart Datum (3.23 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will overtop Climping sea front. Water will flood nearby land and fields and affect Climping Street car park and Climping Street. From Saturday 14/3/2020, we should see smaller wave heights, lower tides and less risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the forecast and may check beach conditions at low tide. Shingle will likely be moved by the high water and weather. The total forecast tide is 6.52 metres Chart Datum (3.47 mAOD) at Littlehampton, which is very similar to that seen Wednesday lunchtime 11/3/2020. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will overtop Climping sea front. Water will flood nearby land and fields and affect Climping Street car park and Climping Street. Tides Friday should be 20cm lower (but with large offshore waves Thursday night), with flood risk becoming very low from Saturday. Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:45 on 11/02/2020 is expected to be similar to Monday lunchtime's tide which caused significant damage to Climping beach and caused flooding of Climping Street. Force 8 winds and large waves will increase tide table values by 0.38 m. The total forecast tide is 6.38 metres Chart Datum (3.33 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For two hours either side of Monday night's high water, impacts are expected to be similar again, and there is a risk of property flooding on Climping Street. Ferry Road may also be impassable from 23:00. Although Tuesday lunchtime's tide is marginally smaller, there will still be a risk of further flooding. Large waves, high tides and the risk of flooding will persist until at least Thursday 13/02/2020. We are working with emergency partners to provide further assistance. For 2 hours either side of high water, large waves will overtop Climping sea front. This will affect Climping Street and Climping Street Car Park. Ponded sea water will flood nearby land and fields. After this tide‚ wave heights and tide levels fall considerably and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We may check beach condition at low tide. Wednesday morning's tide at 11:30 on 27/11/2019 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather. With strong South Westerly Force 7 winds associated with ex tropical storm Sebastien. The weather increases tide table values by 0.39 m. The total forecast tide is 6.50 metres Chart Datum (3.45 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, a small amount of water could affect Climping Street and Climping Street Car Park from wave action. Ponded sea water could affect nearby land and fields. Wave heights will increase Wednesday evening, but tide heights and flood risk will gradually reduce from Thursday. We've built up the beach over previous weeks and is currently in a good condition to minimise impacts. We will check beach condition at low tide Wednesday. Shingle will be contained, carried and thrown by spray. Avoid walking along the exposed coast and parking at Climping Car Park at high tide. We will update this message by 18:00 on 27/11/2019

Sunday morning’s tide at 03:00 on 03/11/2019 will be nearly a metre lower than Saturday afternoon’s tide, and with lighter winds (Force 5, South Westerly) and moderate (but smaller) waves. The total forecast tide is 4.77 metres Chart Datum (2.03 mAOD) at Littlehampton. A small amount of spray may affect Climping Street and nearby fields for two hours either side of high water, but no significant flood impacts are expected. Tides will continue to remain low over the next few days. We continue to monitor the forecast. At low tide we will check and work to maintain the condition of the shingle beach. The weather increases tide table values by 0.5 m. The total forecast tide is 5.92 metres Chart Datum (2.87 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, large waves will overtop Climping sea front. This will affect Climping Street and Climping Street car park. Ponded sea water will flood nearby land and fields. Tides will be significantly lower Saturday evening and the winds will ease too. No further impacts are expected on Sunday (03/11/2019). We continue to monitor the forecast. We will check the beach condition at low tide. Shingle will be contained, carried and thrown by spray. Avoid walking along the exposed coast and parking at Climping car park at high tide.
