Friday’s tides at 01:45 and 14:00 13/3/2020 will be at least 10cm lower than those experienced on Wednesday and Thursday this week. With wave heights increasing from Thursday night however, minor flood impacts may remain similar to recent days. The strong Force 7 Westerly winds will increase tide table values by 0.2m. The total forecast tide is 5.97 metres Chart Datum (3.23 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will be high and close to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. From Saturday 14/3/2020, we should see smaller wave heights, lower tides and only minimal risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the forecast. Thursday afternoon's tide at 13:15 on 12/03/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.47 m. The total forecast tide is 6.52 metres Chart Datum (3.47 mAOD) at Littlehampton, which is very similar to that seen Wednesday lunchtime 11/3/2020. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Tides Friday should be 20cm lower (but with large offshore waves Thursday night), with flood risk becoming very low from Saturday. We continue to monitor the forecast. The tide is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.22 m. The total forecast tide is 6.36 metres Chart Datum (3.31 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. The tide 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 will be higher, with similar impacts to 12:15 11/3/2020. For 2 hour either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. The tide at 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 is forecast to be of similar height. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Strong winds and large waves are expected from 08:00 on Sunday 09/02/2020 as Storm Ciara passes across the South East. There is a risk of minor flooding from spray. The weather increases tide table values by 0.39 m. The total forecast tide is 6.50 metres Chart Datum (3.45 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Wave heights will increase Wednesday evening, but tide heights and flood risk will gradually reduce for the rest of the week. Minor impacts are probable until Thursday 28/11/2019. The tide is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values Tuesday by 0.2m (surge). The forecast tide is 6.15 metres Chart Datum (3.41 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For an hour either side of high tide, water could affect boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Tide levels will be high up slipways and water may back up through the drains. Tuesday morning's tide (6.07 mCD 01:30 1/10/2019) will also generate minor impacts at high water. From Tuesday evening tides will return to more normal levels and the risk of flooding becomes much less likely. We continue to monitor tide forecasts. The tide is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with light South Westerly Force 4 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.17 m (surge). The forecast tide is 6.46 metres Chart Datum (3.41 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For an hour either side of high tide, water could affect boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Tide levels will be high up slipways and water may back up through the drains. Tuesday (1/10/2019) midday's tide is forecast to be similar in height and impacts as Sunday (29/9/2019) midday, with overnight tides 10cm lower. We continue to monitor tide levels and forecasts. The forecast tide is 6.49 metres Chart Datum (3.44 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For an hour either side of high tide, water could affect boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Tide levels will be high up slipways and water may back up through the drains. Tuesday (1/10/2019) lunchtime's tide is forecast to be similar in height and impact to Sunday (29/9/2019) lunchtime, with the tides in between 10cm lower. Any impacts should be minimal and localised but we are not expecting any flooding to properties.
