The total forecast tide is 6.21 metres Chart Datum (3.16 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hour either side of high water, the tide could cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Water should not exceed the tops of the walls, but we are issuing this message as a precaution and to raise awareness of the higher than normal tide. If the tide is higher than we are predicting, small amounts, and shallow depths of water could affect ship yards of Littlehampton Rope Walk. Thursday afternoon's tide at 14:15 19/12/2024 is forecast to be 41 cm lower (2.8 mAOD), with no further flood impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide could cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing minor flooding to roads. If the tide is slightly higher than forecast, following flood damage in April 2024, it could be possible for a small amount of water to flow through The Shipyard, and onto Rope Walk. Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds increase tide table values by 0.55 m. The total forecast tide is 6.28 metres Chart Datum (3.23 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause minor flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. On Sunday evening the weather increases tide table values by 0.16 m and the total forecast tide will be 5.99 metres Chart Datum (3.25 mAOD) at Littlehampton. The weather increases tide table values by 0.13 m and the total forecast tide will be 6.05 metres Chart Datum (3.31 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Sunday morning's tide (11:00 on 15/11/2020) will be similar to that seen Saturday morning, with Saturday evening's tide (22:30 on 14/11/2020) about 20cm lower. Friday’s tides at 01:45 and 14:00 13/3/2020 will be at least 10cm lower than those experienced on Wednesday and Thursday this week. With wave heights increasing from Thursday night however, minor flood impacts may remain similar to recent days. The strong Force 7 Westerly winds will increase tide table values by 0.2m. The total forecast tide is 5.97 metres Chart Datum (3.23 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will be high and close to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. The tide is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.22 m. The total forecast tide is 6.36 metres Chart Datum (3.31 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. The tide 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 will be higher, with similar impacts to 12:15 11/3/2020. For 2 hour either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. The tide at 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 is forecast to be of similar height. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Strong winds and large waves are expected from 08:00 on Sunday 09/02/2020 as Storm Ciara passes across the South East. There is a risk of minor flooding from spray.
