Aldingbourne and Barnham Rifes
20mm of rain is forecast Saturday afternoon. The Aldingbourne and Barnham rifes will rise this afternoon and evening. Possibly higher than has been seen over the past week. From 22:00 Saturday evening 09/11/2019 minor impact flooding, with shallow depths could affect fields, rural roads and gardens in Shripney and Bersted. If the rain is intense then a few areas of Barnham (Marshall Close, Lake Lane) may be affected from 16:00 9/11/2019, but this currently feels unlikely. Further rain is expected Monday 11/11/2019 and Thursday 14/11/2019, which should cause water levels to rise again. The river through Shripney is unlikely to peak until Sunday afternoon 10/11/2019. Please plan to deploy flood protection products, if you have them and avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We will keep our debris screens in Barnham clear so water can flow freely in the river and our pumps running in Felpham to reduce flood risk. This message will be updated by 11:00 10/11/2019.

Flood Alert issued on 8 Nov 2019 10:12

Only 2mm of rain fell overnight, a lot less than predicted and Friday 8/11/2019 will be dry. The Aldingbourne and Barnham rifes will continue to slowly fall until Saturday morning. Minimal flood impacts will remain from current high flows. Further heavy rain is expected from 14:00 Saturday afternoon 9/11/2019. We are expecting rivers to rise Saturday afternoon and into the evening to similarly high levels as experienced recently. There remains some uncertainty in the forecast and there is a small chance we may see more rainfall which may be enough to cause flooding to fields, rural roads and close to properties. Please expect the risk of flooding to increase Saturday evening and consider taking precautionary action to reduce potential impacts. Plan to deploy flood protection products Saturday morning, if you have them. We will ensure our grilles in Barnham are clear and our pumps at Felpham are running to help reduce flood risk. This message will be updated by 12:00 9/11/2019

The Aldingbourne Rife is high following half a month’s rain this week. Heavy showers are possible overnight. If intense rain falls in Barnham then areas of Marshall Close and Lake Lane may also be affected. Please plan to avoid driving on roads vulnerable to flooding and deploy flood protection products in Barnham, if you have them. We will ensure our grilles in Barnham are clear and our pumps at Felpham are running to help reduce flood risk. This message will be updated by 11:00 8/11/2019
