Flood Alert issued on 13 Feb 2020 06:10
Scrase Bridge Stream, West Common Stream
The Scrasebridge and West Common streams are rising quickly following 20 mm of heavy rain this morning 13/02/2020. From 06:30 13/02/2020, minor impact flooding may possibly affect roads, gardens and approach a small number of properties including the Builders Centre on Bridge Road, near the Witch Inn, Blackthorns and Meadow Drive. Rain is expected to clear by 07:00 13/02/2020, leaving only showers Thursday and Friday 14/02/2020, which should allow river levels to fall quite quickly (by 10:00 13/02/2020). However, rain from Storm Dennis may cause flooding to affect more properties Sunday 16/02/2020. If you see a blockage affecting the flow in the river, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. We are clearing debris from grilles through Lindfield, including the Builders Centre and Witch Inn, to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. This message will be updated by 15:00 13/02/2020.
