River levels in the Wharfe have risen in response to rainfall at the top of the catchment during Thursday afternoon and evening (05/12/19). Consequently, flooding is possible from the evening of Thursday 5th December overnight into Friday 6th December. The level at Addingham is expected to peak at approximately 3am, Ilkley at 4:30am, Otley around 5am and Collingham around 10:30am on Friday 6th December. Bands of further rain are expected throughout the weekend and responses may be seen in local watercourses as a result. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and stay away from fast moving water. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. River levels in the Wharfe are forecast to rise overnight on Thursday 5/12/2019 as a result of rainfall during Thursday. Consequently, flooding is possible from the evening of Thursday 5th December continuing into Friday 6th December. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads around Addingham, Ilkley, Pool Bridge, Arthington and Collingham. Bands of further rain are expected throughout the weekend. River levels are expected to peak during Friday morning (06/12/19) between approximately 2am upstream at Addingham and approximately 10:30am downstream at Collingham. Levels will then fall during Friday but may rise again as rainfall continues. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and stay away from fast moving water. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast.
