River levels have now fallen, however Mickletown Ings remains full. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland remains possible overnight. The area most at risk is Mill Lane. The water levels in the Ings will remain high overnight (23/02/2022) but should begin to slowly drain over the next few days. Despite ongoing unsettled weather, we are not expecting any large rainfall amounts here, or higher up the catchment, over the next couple of days. We continue to closely monitor the situation. Mickletown Ings is reaching capacity, therefore there is a risk that nearby properties may flood. The water levels in the Ings will remain high throughout today (Tuesday 22/02/2022).
No further rainfall is forecast but we expect river levels to remain high into tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences and closely monitoring the forecast.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and be aware rivers could rise very quickly, even if it's not raining where you are.
