Following yesterday's persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt due to Storm Bert, river levels have peaked and are now falling. Further heavy rainfall is expected into Sunday morning, 24 November 2024. River levels are expected to rise again as a result of this rainfall, but are not expected to peak as high. Areas most at risk include Shade to Salford including Rochdale Road, Lock Street, Shade Street, Cannon Street, Weir Street.
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

Following Saturday's persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt due to Storm Bert, river levels have peaked and are now falling. Further heavy rainfall is expected throughout the early hours and into Sunday morning, 24 November, 2024. River levels are expected to rise again as a result of this rainfall, but are not expected to peak as high. Areas most at risk include Shade to Salford including Rochdale Road, Lock Street, Shade Street, Cannon Street, Weir Street. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight due to Storm Ciara. Although river levels are currently peaking, a heavy pulse of rain is forecast later this morning which we expect to cause a sharp river response. Consequently, flooding of property is possible this morning from around 10am, 09/02/20. Areas most at risk are properties between Shade and Salford. We expect river levels to continue to rise until approximately midday today. We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. Please put your flood plan into action and see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water. Halifax Road at Callis Bridge has been affected by surface water flooding, so please take care if driving in the area. We will update this message by 16:25 09/02/20, or as the situation changes.
