Flood Warning issued on 9 Feb 2020 08:43
Hebden Water
River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight due to Storm Ciara. A further heavy pulse of rain is causing a sharp river response so property flooding is possible in the late morning today, 09/02/20. The Hebden Bridge sirens were sounded at 08:00, 09/02/20. Areas most at risk are properties around Old Gate, New Road, Crown Street, Hope Street, Albert Street, and properties at Hebden Water adjacent to Spring Grove. We expect river levels to continue to rise until approximately midday today. We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. Please put your flood plan into action and see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded, and avoid contact with flood water. Halifax Road at Callis Bridge has been affected by surface water flooding, so please take care in this the area. We will update this message by 16:40 09/02/20, or as the situation changes.
