River levels have risen rapidly on Batley Beck as the result of heavy rain and thunderstorms today, Tuesday 18/06/2024. As a consequence, flooding of properties is possible. The Risk of further thunderstorms remains until 21:00 this evening. Slow moving thunderstorms are expected until around 9pm this evening and could lead to a rapid rise in local watercourses and cause surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please stay safe, avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
