Historical Flood Warnings for this Area
River Calder
River levels remain high as a result of heavy rain associated with Storm Bert, and snowmelt over higher ground, on Saturday 23rd November. Whilst levels have fallen, more rainfall overnight (which may continue through this morning, Sunday 24th November) will see river levels start to rise again, so flooding remains possible. However, levels are not expected to get as high as they did yesterday, Saturday 23 November. Impacts remain possible in the Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd areas into Sunday morning. The A646 Halifax Road is currently closed due to flooding. Flooding of roads and low lying land remains possible from rivers and surface water. We are closely monitoring the situation and our Area Incident Room shall continue to be open through the weekend. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water or walking near swollen rivers - especially as gale force winds are still forecast over the weekend. This message will be updated by 12:30 on Sunday 24 November 2024, or as the situation changes.

River Calder
River levels are rising as a result of persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt. This rainfall will continue through much of today, Saturday 23 November 2024. Levels at Todmorden are forecast to continue to rise until about 16:00 this afternoon. Areas most at risk are Burnley Road between Harehill Street and Victoria Road. We are monitoring the situation closely. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Consider taking appropriate steps to prepare for possible flooding, such as moving things upstairs and getting flood protection equipment ready to put in place. This message will be updated by 21:15 on Saturday 23 November 2024, or as the situation changes.
