River levels rose overnight due to rainfall and melting of snow. Levels have peaked at Wrenthorpe and are slowly falling. Flooding is still possible, Areas most at risk include Wrenthorpe in Wakefield including Wrenthorpe Lane, Southfield Close, Jerry Clay Lane, School Lane, Furness Drive and Lyndale Drive. Levels are forecast to continue to fall throughout this evening, Monday 6t January. Wintry showers cleared the area this morning, and we expect it to be mainly dry and cold for the next few days. Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not drive through floodwater. the situation changes.
