Wortley Beck
River levels are still high on Wortley Beck due to heavy rainfall throughout Saturday 23rd and into Sunday 24th November from Storm Bert, as well as melt water due to rising temperature. Flooding is possible.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Wortley Beck, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Wortley Beck, Farnley Beck, Farnley Wood Beck and Millshaw Beck.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads near rivers.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.

Wortley Beck
This flood alert remains in place as heavy rain and thunderstorms are continuing to affect parts of West Yorkshire. River levels have peaked upstream of Farnley Lake but are still steadily rising downstream. Areas most at risk include Wortley Beck, Farnley Beck, Farnley Wood Beck and Millshaw Beck.
The rain should start to ease through the late evening and overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday 7 May 2024, when river levels will fall and return to normal. We will continue to monitor the forecast.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

Wortley Beck
River levels are rising rapidly on the Wortley Beck due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Further rainfall is forecast throughout the evening, 06/05/24, but should ease overnight. Areas most at risk include Wortley Beck, Farnley Beck, Farnley Wood Beck and Millshaw Beck.
We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

Wortley Beck
Farnley Beck is expected to rise in response to tonight's rainfall which will last into the early hours of the 2nd of January. Further rain tomorrow may also push river levels back up again. Areas affected by water will principally be lower lying areas of farm and park land next to Farnley Beck. Please take care near waterlogged land and flooded fields and use alternative routes until the water has receded.
