River levels on the River Avon will remain high today, Friday the 29 March 2024. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Avon, Broadmead Brook, River Boyd, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around low-lying land at Hanham Lock, the Bath Marina area and the floodplain upstream of Bath. The River Avon should peak tonight between 6pm and 8pm. We are not forecasting flood warnings within the City of Bath as upcoming rainfall totals over the weekend are lower.

River levels on the River Avon will remain high today, Friday the 29 March 2024. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Avon, Broadmead Brook, River Boyd, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around low lying land at Hanham Lock, the Bath Marina area and the floodplain upstream of Bath. River levels are rising steadily on the Bristol Avon and Broadmead Brook due to rainfall today. Areas most at risk include low lying land at Hanham Lock, the floodplain upstream of Bath and low lying areas close to Broadmead Brook.
Flooding is possible from 9:00PM on 02/03/2024 and through the night. No property flooding is expected. The forecast is mainly dry for Sunday 03/03/2024 and river levels are forecast to fall throughout the day.

River levels peaked at 5:00pm at the Bathford river gauge on Saturday, 21/12/19. Although levels are now falling they are forecast to rise again as a result of the showers seen through Saturday afternoon and evening, but to a lower peak than already seen. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland continues to be possible throughout Saturday night and in to Sunday, 22/12/19. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land at Hanham Lock and the floodplain upstream of Bath. The weather is largely improving through Sunday, 22/12/19, with some scattered showers forecast. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible throughout most of today, 21/12/19. Further showers are forecast on the afternoon of Saturday the 21st and into the evening. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend.

We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land at Hanham Lock and the floodplain upstream of Bath. Flooding of properties is not currently forecast but we will continue to monitor the situation and issue further messages as required. Further heavy showers are forecast over Thursday and Friday.
