Flooding is possible overnight tonight due to incoming rainfall which is forecasting river levels at the Brokenborough and Great Somerford gauges to rise.
Areas most at risk include low lying areas in Tetbury, Badminton, Brook End at Luckington, Corsham, Lacock and the road at Reybridge.
Weather conditions are expected to improve tomorrow with scattered showers into the weekend that will keep levels high. No flood warnings are forecast at this time.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the situation.

The weather outlook for Monday 2nd December and Tuesday the 3rd December is positive with limited rainfall totals, which should help to stabilise river levels. We are forecasting more extensive rain on Thursday the 4th December.

Up to 5-to10 mm is forecast today, Sunday the 1st December, we are not expecting flood warnings to be issued from Sundays rainfall. The weather outlook for Monday to Tuesday is currently forecasting very small rainfall totals, which should help to reduce river levels.

River levels have fallen at the Great Somerford river gauge from the previous rainfall, however the river is likely to rise again later on 14/02/2020 and over the weekend as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to further rainfall combined with storm Dennis passing through the area. We are expecting much heavier rain as a result of Storm Dennis over Saturday and Sunday, potentially rainfall totals exceeding 20mm, which are likely to cause flood warnings to be triggered in the Upper reaches of River Avon.
