River Lambourn
The River Lambourn is still high in response to Thursday's rainfall and high groundwater levels, and is forecast to remain high over the next few days. Friday's forecast is for scattered showers with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Further property flooding is possible today (01/06/2018) as a result of the high river levels. We are closely monitoring the situation and our staff are out in the area checking for and clearing blockages. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, please refer to the River and Sea levels in England webpage for current levels. River Lambourn
The River Lambourn has been rising quickly this afternoon in response to today's rainfall. The forecast is for isolated but heavy thunderstorms this afternoon and into the evening, clearing overnight. But more thunderstorms are forecast for Friday. Therefore levels will continue to rise and property flooding is expected this evening (31/05/2018) onwards, especially in the Lambourn area.
We are constantly monitoring river levels and our staff are out in the area checking for and clearing blockages. Our Area Incident Room is currently open. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, please refer to the River and Sea levels in England webpage for current levels.
