Property flooding is possible. River levels remain high but are beginning to fall on the River Kennet following Storm Dennis. Therefore, the risk of flooding is reducing. Further rainfall showers are forecast over the next 12 hours, but rainfall totals are forecast to be low. River levels are falling, but still pose a flood risk. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk and in the area clearing weed/trash screens. Property flooding is expected. River levels have gradually rose on the River Kennet overnight as a result of the heavy rainfall over the weekend. Therefore, flooding (of property) is beginning to happen, especially in the areas closest to the river at Shenfield Mill, Burghfield, Theale and Reading town centre. River levels have dropped slightly during the course of this morning (Monday 17/02/2020), river levels will remain high over the next few days. Further, lighter showers are forecast today. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in the area clearing trash screens and will be visiting the area today. Please avoid contact with flood water and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Property flooding is expected. River levels have continued to gradually rise on the River Kennet overnight as a result of the heavy rainfall over the weekend. Therefore, flooding (of property) is imminent, especially in the areas closest to the river at Shenfield Mill and Theale, as well as Reading town centre. River levels are forecast to peak in the next hour (by 06:30) on Monday morning (17/02/20). But river levels will remain high and slightly higher than the levels experienced in February 2009. Further, lighter showers are forecast today. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in the area clearing trash screens and will be visiting the area today. Levels are now falling slowly and are expected to continue to fall. No further property flooding is expected.
