Colne Brook
Over the last few days we have seen heavy rainfall over the upper reaches of the River Colne. River levels in the Colne Brook have also risen in response to localised rainfall. As water travels down through the catchment, the river is likely to come out of banks in some low lying areas in the Hythe End area. There is likely to be minor flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river early this evening (Monday 2 April). Surface water flooding could also occur. Take care near the areas of concern. We expect the river to remain high overnight and into tomorrow morning, although no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not expected to be issued. Some further fast moving isolated showers are forecast over the area over night, however these are not expected to cause any impacts. We are constantly monitoring river levels.
