River levels remain high but are starting to fall on the Colne Brook at Iver and Colnbrook as a result of heavy rainfall over the last few days. We expect river levels to remain high throughout today, Tuesday 24/12/19 into Wednesday 25/12/19. There is likely to be some standing water on low lying land and roads next to the river. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation. Our incident response staff are monitoring rainfall and river levels. The next couple of days are forecast to be mostly dry, with further rainfall possible on Thursday 26/12/19. Please stay aware of the forecast, local water levels and weather conditions. You can check the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated tomorrow, Wednesday 25/12/19, or sooner if the situation changes.

Over the last few days we have seen heavy rainfall. This has meant that the Colne Brook has been rising. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river during Friday 20 December. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur. No flooding to properties is currently expected. Further rainfall is forecast. Please monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff on standby to attend to any blockages in the river. Over the last few days we have seen heavy rainfall over the upper reaches of the River Colne. River levels in the Colne Brook have also risen in response to localised rainfall. As water travels down through the catchment, the river is likely to come out of banks in some low lying areas in the Hythe End area. There is likely to be minor flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river early this evening (Monday 2 April). Surface water flooding could also occur. Take care near the areas of concern. We expect the river to remain high overnight and into tomorrow morning, although no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not expected to be issued. Some further fast moving isolated showers are forecast over the area over night, however these are not expected to cause any impacts. We are constantly monitoring river levels.
