This alert is issued for the high tide at 14:30 today, Wednesday 7th November. A combination of High Spring Tides and strong winds are forecast to cause wave overtopping and spray at Beadnall Harbour Road North throughout the period between 14:30 and 17:00. Expect tides to be higher than usual. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. This alert is issued for the high tides along the North Sea from Berwick to St Mary's Lighthouse this evening (Friday 26 October 2018) and early tomorrow morning (Saturday 27 October 2018). A combination of high tides, storm surge and wind are forecast to cause localised instances of wave overtopping and spray in low lying coastal areas between 4pm and 8pm this evening and again from 4am and 8am tomorrow morning. Areas most at risk are Beadnell Harbour Road North, Seahouses North Pier and Newbiggin Bay North Promenade. People are advised to take care if on beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths between these times. At this stage no property flooding is forecast and we do not expect to issue any Flood Warnings. Wind and wave conditions combined with the high tide are likely to cause wave overtopping and spray at Beadnell Harbour Road, North Blyth Sand Dunes and Newbiggin Bay North Promenade throughout the period between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. Spring tides and strong onshore winds are forecast to cause wave overtopping and spray along the coast, and in particular, impacts could be seen at Beadnell Harbour Road North and Newbiggin Bay North Promenade throughout these periods. Similar impacts are not expected for the early morning tide on Sunday however, please remain vigilant during the period of high tide. This alert is issued for the morning high tide on Wednesday 3rd January. High tide levels combined with some storm surge and local weather conditions may cause minor overtopping and windblown spray. The particular areas of risk are Beadnell Harbour Road North and low lying paths around Alnmouth Estuary between 02:15am and 05:45am. Expect tides to be higher than usual. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. No flooding of property is anticipated and we do not expect to issue any flood warnings in these areas. This is a flood alert update for the high tide along the Northumberland Coast. The surge experienced yesterday is diminishing as are the astronomical tides. Wave action is expected to remain high for the afternoon tide 08/12/2017 which could lead to some overtopping and/or spray at low lying areas between 5.00pm and 8.00pm. No flood warnings are expected to be issued. Care should be taken close to exposed coastal locations due to the risk of crashing waves. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message by 10:00am Saturday 09/12/2017.

This alert is issued for the high tide along the Northumberland Coast. The North East is currently experiencing relatively high tides and for the Thursday evening high tide we will experience an approximate 0.7m surge due to the Storm Caroline low pressure system. The storm will also create significant waves that are expected to lead to overtopping between 5.00pm and 8.00pm. Key locations that are likely to be impacted include Seahouses (Monks houses), Alnmouth Riverside Road and Horsefield, the A1068 between Amble and Warkworth, Newbiggin North and South Promenades, North Blyth. Beadnell Harbour Road North. Flood Warnings will also be issued for Seahouses and Alnmouth. Extreme care should be taken close to exposed coastal locations due to the risk of crashing waves. We will continue to monitor the situation and reissue this Alert for any subsequent tides if required. Subsequent tides on Friday 07/12/2017 and into the weekend are likely to pose less risk.

Strong winds are forecast to cause wave overtopping and spray at Beadnell, Harbour Rd North between 2.15pm and 5pm, Alnmouth River footpath between 3.45pm and 4pm, and Newbiggin North Promenade between 2.45pm and 5pm. Expect tides to be higher than usual. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. We will continue to monitor the situation. This alert is in place for Beadnell harbour road north and Newbiggin Bay north promenade between the hours of 0230am and 0530am tomorrow morning (Friday 6th October). Large waves and spray are likely so take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads. Do not drive through flood water or large waves.
