River levels are rising on the Bristol Frome due to persistent rainfall today. River levels will be at their highest between 3:30 PM on 02/03/2024 and midday on 03/03/2024.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Frome with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around St John's Way in Chipping Sodbury and Damson Bridge.
Further light rainfall is forecast this afternoon. River levels are forecast to begin falling overnight and continue to drop through the day on Sunday.

River levels have risen at the Frenchay gauge in response to the saturated ground and heavy rainfall. Rivers levels are now dropping after peaking during the night but levels will still remain high until Wednesday 3rd January 2024.

Further rainfall is forecast overnight and into Tuesday and as a result river levels are expected to continue to rise, peaking around 03:45 am Tuesday morning, after which they are expected reduce but will remain high until Wednesday 3rd January 2024 . Consequently flooding of roads and farmland is possible during this period.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. People in the areas should consider taking action now. We urge all people to take care.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Frome, Bristol Floating Harbour, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around St John's Way in Chipping Sodbury and Damson Bridge through Tuesday 05/12/2023.
There is very little rain forecast for Tuesday 05/12/2023 and river levels will continue to fall through the day. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue or update this alert and issue warnings if necessary. We are monitoring defences and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.

Further rainfall is forecast this evening. River levels will rise steadily throughout the evening on Monday 04/12/2023 and are expected to peak in the early hours of 05/12/2023. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 02:00 tomorrow 16/02/20 and 09:00 Monday 17/02/20. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Saint John's Way in Chipping Sodbury and Damson Bridge. The SS Great Britain Dry Dock is forecast to flood.
We expect river levels to rise until 12:00 on 16/02/20.

The Bristol Frome Flood Alert is active.
As a result of an extensive wet weather period over recent weeks the Bristol Frome catchment is beginning to respond and rise to Flood Alert status. It is expected to meet criteria in the early hours of Sunday morning the 3rd November 2019. Approximately 10-20 mm of rain has fallen today over a widespread area in the Avon and Somerset.
River levels on the River Frome at Chipping Sodbury, River Frome at Frenchay, are rising. While we are currently not expecting any flood warnings to be issued flooding is possible at St Johns Way in Chipping Sodbury and Damson Bridge. The SS Great Britain Dry Dock is forecast to flood.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide an update tomorrow morning.

Less rain is forecast overnight on Sunday 13/10/2019 but a further frontal band of rain may feed north across the region during Monday afternoon 14/10/19, from about 13:00 hours onwards. Some of this rain may be heavy in places and it is forecast to clear northwards over Monday night. There is some uncertainty in the exact track of the intense bursts. We expect river levels to rise again during Monday afternoon and evening on 14/10/2019 so this flood alert has been updated and remains in force. In addition, further potentially heavy rain is currently forecast for Wednesday 16/10/2019. In the meantime we will closely monitor the situation and we will provide further update to this message on Monday morning 14/10/2019, or as the situation changes. The Environment Agency Incident team are monitoring river levels to ensure that river structures such as weed screens are kept free from debris. River levels at Frenchay river gauge for the Nibley to Stapleton area have been gradually falling and remain steady. We are expecting a persistent band of rain with localised heavy rainfall overnight on Saturday 12/10/2019 and into the early hours of Sunday. This may cause river levels to rise again. No properties are forecast to flood tonight but significant rainfall is forecast for Monday 14/10/2019 and Tuesday 15/10/2019 which could result in river levels rising higher. We have been checking the rivers for potential blockages and are ensuring trash screens are kept clear of debris. An area of persistent rain with some localised heavy outbursts has fallen overnight and has resulted in rivers responding. Further rain is forecast throughout Friday on 11/10/2019 and over the weekend. The ground is now wet so it is likely river levels will rise.
River level on the River Frome at Frenchay are rising. River levels on the River Frome at Chipping Sodbury, River Frome at Eastville and River Frome at Bristol Floating Harbour are fairly stable at the present time.
We are not expecting flooding of properties at the present time but advise you keep yourself informed with local weather situation. It is possible that low lying roads may be affected. We are monitoring the rivers for potential blockages and are ensuring trash screens are kept clear of debris. We will update this message as the weather or situation changes.
