There could be widespread flooding of low-lying land and roads, and overtopping from large waves in exposed locations. Water levels tonight will be the highest experienced over recent days.

This alert is for coastal flooding. Due to a combination of high water levels, wind and waves there is a risk of coastal flooding around the times of high tide. There could be flooding of low-lying land and roads, and overtopping from spray or waves in exposed locations. Peak tide levels will remain high over the weekend. On Sunday evening, the west facing coast of Sutherland will experience very high waves and water levels.
