The heavy and persistent rainfall that fell throughout Thursday and into Friday morning has caused river levels to rise in the River Welland area. Levels have started to drop in upper reaches, in the Market Harborough area. Water continues to move downstream and the peak is currently passing through Stamford and the lower reaches. Levels are stabilising but the river will remain high and may continue to cause flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties is not likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued.
