The next highest water levels are expected between Friday evening and early Saturday morning. Further disruption is possible on Sunday evening. Along the North Esk levels are not expected to be as high and will peak on Saturday much lower than on Friday, but with on going disruption.
As for the South Esk and Brechin levels are not expected to be as high and will be much lower on Saturday than on Friday, with a peak expected to be around 2m in Brechin on Saturday afternoon. However, there will be ongoing disruption and flooding in the area following the severe flooding.
In Dundee river levels are expected to remain high today with any ongoing flooding disruption likely to continue. However, levels will not rise to those seen in the past couple of days with an improving situation.

This Flood Alert is for coastal, river and surface water flooding, Storm Barra is expected to affect the area on Tuesday and Wednesday and this brings with it the threat of very strong south easterly winds and heavy rain.
Coastal flooding issues are likely due to a combination of high astronomical tides, large waves and a small storm related surge in water levels. The most likely impacts are spray and wave overtopping in exposed coastal locations and flooding to low-lying land and roads. The time of highest risk is likely to be high tide on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 16:30. Tide time is based on Dundee.
A spell of heavy rain is also expected to affect low-lying coastal areas on Tuesday evening through into Wednesday, snow is expected further inland. This could cause flooding issues from small watercourses and surface water.
