South Cornwall Coast, Truro River
Flooding is expected over the high tide on Thursday evening, 20th August. High Spring tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause property flooding on Thursday evening. Flooding of low lying or exposed locations is also possible on Thursday and Friday. High water at Truro on Thursday evening is at 19:22. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Storm Ellen is forecast to bring force 7 Southerly winds and large waves, causing tides to be higher than predicted along the coast, with wave overtopping and sea spray in exposed locations. Locations particularly at risk include Garras Wharf, Lemon Quay and Boscowan Park. Truro Tidal gates will be closed. High numbers of visitors in locations that may flood brings an increased risk. People are advised to avoid low lying and exposed coastal areas. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this information if the situation changes.

Flooding is expected over the high tide on Sunday morning, 4th March. High water at Truro is at 7:00am, times of high water will vary along the coast. Large waves along the coast combined with south westerly winds up to Force 6 are forecast to cause flooding up to 3 hours either side of high tide. Locations at risk include Newham Road, Garras Wharf, Malpas Road, Boscawen Park, Lemon Quay and the A390. The Truro tidal gate will be closed. Operational staff will be checking defences and gates. Please stay away from these areas where possible. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level at Truro is 3.11 mAOD, this is 0.35m above astronomical tide level.

Flooding is expected over the high tide on Saturday morning, 3rd March. High water at Truro is at 6.15am, times of high water will vary along the coast. Large waves along the coast combined with south easterly winds up to Force 7 are forecast to cause flooding up to 3 hours either side of high tide. Locations at risk include Newham Road, Garras Wharf, Malpas Road, Boscawen Park, Lemon Quay and the A390. The Truro tidal gate will be closed. Operational staff will be checking defences and gates. Please stay away from these areas where possible. Do not drive through flood water or waves. The current cold weather conditions are also likely to increase hazardous conditions along the coast. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; the forecast high tide level at Truro is 3.12 mAOD, this is 0.34m above astronomical tide level.
