River levels are high on the River Eden due to Storm Isha. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around farms, residential properties and roads adjacent to the River Eden at Warwick Bridge including properties at Bridge End Cottages, Holme Eden Hall and properties adjacent to the B6263 Warwick Bridge to Wetheral road. River levels remain high and the risk of flooding of properties will continue. Further light rainfall is forecast throughout the day but river levels are now falling steadily. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 5:00 PM on 22/01/2024, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen at the Eden Valley river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying roads and farmland is expected. Farms, residential properties and roads are at risk adjacent to the River Eden at Warwick Bridge including properties at Bridge End Cottages, Holme Eden Hall and properties adjacent to the B6263 Warwick Bridge to Wetheral road. The River Eden level has peaked and for a short time will fall. However further rain will cause the level to rise and we expect it to peak again at around 10am on Sunday 16/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses. River levels are forecast to rise at the Great Corby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall on the Pennines and the upper Eden at Appleby only peaking in the last few hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains to farms, residential properties and roads adjacent to the River Eden at Warwick Bridge including properties at Bridge End Cottages, Holme Eden Hall and properties adjacent to the B6263 Warwick Bridge to Wetheral Road. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life. Further rainfall is forecast tonight.. We are closely monitoring the situation. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life. Further rainfall is forecast to ease over the next few hours . We expect river levels to remain high for the rest of today. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
