Flooding affecting locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby. River levels are expected to remain high and the risk of flooding of properties will continue. River levels are to begin falling, but the risk of flooding remains. We will continue to monitor local water levels and weather conditions ahead of Storm Jocelyn. You should avoid walking, cycling, or driving through flood water. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby. River levels are expected to remain high and the risk of flooding of properties will continue. Further light rainfall is forecast throughout the day but river levels are forecast to begin falling. River levels are high and forecast to rise further on the River Eden due to heavy rainfall earlier today. Flooding could occur at isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby from 5:00 AM on 22/01/2024 as river levels continue to rise further. No further rainfall is forecast tonight. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. River levels remain high at the Linstock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby are at risk. The River Eden is expected to peak this afternoon, 16/02/2020. Further light rain is forecast today. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have closed flood defences. River levels are raised at the Eden Valley river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying roads and farmland is expected. Isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby are at risk. The River Eden level has peaked and for a short time will fall. However further rain will cause the level to rise and we expect it to peak again at around 10am on Sunday 16/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall on the Pennines and with levels on the upper Eden at Appleby which caused flooding there only peaking over the last few hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains to isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby during this evening. Further showers are forecast over this evening and overnight and we expect river levels to remain high until late tonight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated
