River levels are high on the River Eden due to Storm Isha. Flooding affecting locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby. River levels are expected to remain high and the risk of flooding of properties will continue. River levels are to begin falling, but the risk of flooding remains. We will continue to monitor local water levels and weather conditions ahead of Storm Jocelyn. You should avoid walking, cycling, or driving through flood water. Flooding could occur at isolated residential properties, farms and golf course facilities between Newby East and Low Crosby from 5:00 AM on 22/01/2024 as river levels continue to rise further. No further rainfall is forecast tonight. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
