Flooding of property is expected from 8:30 PM on 21/01/2024. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings.

River levels are rising rapidly on the River Eden due to heavy rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around low lying roads, farms and isolated properties adjacent to the River Eden at Armathwaite, The Castle, Mill Farm, Dry Beck Farm, Brocklewath, Coathouse Tower, Edenside, Low Holme and Fishgarth.
We are clearing debris from weed screens in the area.
Consider activating any property flood protection products.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

River levels continue to remain high in the Eden Valley as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue. Low lying roads, farms and isolated properties adjacent to the River Eden at Armathwaite, The Castle, Mill Farm, Dry Beck Farm, Brocklewath, Coathouse Tower, Edenside, Low Holme and Fishgarth may be affected. Tonight we are expecting between 20mm and 40mm of rainfall. This will cause river levels to rise tomorrow morning. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 23/02/2020 or as the situation changes.

River levels are forecast to rise in the Eden Valley as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected from 10:00 today, 22/02/2020. Low lying roads, farms and isolated properties adjacent to the River Eden at Armathwaite, The Castle, Mill Farm, Dry Beck Farm, Brocklewath, Coathouse Tower, Edenside, Low Holme and Fishgarth may be affected. The current rainfall has now cleared the area and river levels are expected peak just above the flood warning level and start to fall throughout this afternoon, 22/02/2020. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated later today, 22/02/2020 or as the situation changes.

River levels are raised at the Eden Valley river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying roads and farmland is expected. Low lying roads, farms and isolated properties adjacent to the River Eden at Armathwaite, The Castle, Mill Farm, Dry Beck Farm, Brocklewath, Coathouse Tower, Edenside, Low Holme and Fishgarth are at risk. The River Eden level has peaked and for a short time will fall. However, further rain will cause the level to rise and we expect it to peak again at around 10am on Sunday 16/02/20.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.

Consequently, the risk of flooding remains for Low lying roads, farms and isolated properties adjacent to the River Eden at Armathwaite, The Castle, Mill Farm, Dry Beck Farm, Brocklewath, Coathouse Tower, Edenside, Low Holme and Fishgarth. Further showers forecast this evening and overnight

Areas affected will be isolated residential properties, farms at Armathwaite Castle, Brocklewath and low ling areas in the Eden Valley at Armathwaite. Further rainfall is forecast until lunch time today, 09/02/2020.
