Flood Warning Info - River Roe and River Ive from Highbridge to Stockdalewath

A Severe flood warning has been issued because the onset of flooding will be rapid due to the rapidly rising river. Areas most at risk include farms and residential properties in the Robin House, Thistlewood, Highbridge, Ashbridge, Roewath and Stockdalewath village areas adjacent the Rivers Roe and Ive. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and throughout Thursday. River levels are expected to remain high and flooding of properties will continue. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. River levels are forecast to rise on the River Roe and River Ive due to heavy rainfall. Flooding is affecting farms and residential properties in the Robin House, Thistlewood, Highbridge, Ashbridge, Roewath and Stockdalewath village areas adjacent the Rivers Roe and Ive from 12:30 AM on 23/05/2024. Further rainfall is forecast throughout Thursday. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Consider activating any property flood protection measures. River levels have risen at the Stockdalewath river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying land and roads is expected. Farms and residential properties are at risk in the Robin House, Thistlewood, Highbridge, Ashbridge, Roewath and Stockdalewath village areas adjacent the Rivers Roe and Ive. We expect river levels to remain high this evening and overnight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

Following the recent rain from Storm Ciara the River Roe levels are rising. As the heavy rain has now passed we are expecting levels to rise another . The peak is expected between 12pm and 1pm today 9th February 2020. We continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as necessary.
