We expect levels to remain high until at least Wednesday 11/12/2019. We are continuing to monitor the situation. As a result of the heavy rainfall which affected the area yesterday (16/08/2019), a high water level at the Lodore gauge means the Flood Warning remains in place. Isolated showers are forecast for today (Saturday 17/08/2019), followed by heavier, more thundery showers on Sunday (18/08/2019) but we do not expect the lake level to rise any further as rainfall totals will be low. The current forecast is for the lake level to fall steadily throughout the weekend, dropping below the Flood Warning trigger by Sunday morning (18/08/2019). Following the rain we have experienced over the last few days, Derwentwater Lake level is continuing to rise. We are expecting further rainfall overnight, Monday into early hours Tuesday morning, and there is the potential for some heavy showers between 22:00 Monday 12/11/18 and 04:00 Tuesday 13/11/18. We are currently expecting the lake to reach flood warning level at around midnight and is expected to peak around 06:00 on Tuesday 13/11/18. We continue to monitor the situation and will update if the situation changes.

Over the last 12 hours we have seen heavy rainfall over Cumbria Catchments, this has meant Lake Levels have now started to rise. The Flood Warning level of 1.8 metres has been reached and the current forecast is that the Lake Level will continue to rise to an estimated 2.5m between 17:00 and 20:00 this evening.
