There is little rain in the forecast for overnight and into Monday 11/02/19, but the land around the lake may remain flooded. We expect the level in the lake to remain high and therefore this warning remains in force for Sunday night and Monday morning. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near the lake, which may be flooded. While there is not a lot of rain still to come there are still a few showers expected. Consequently the land around the lake may remain flooded. We expect the level in the lake to remain high and therefore this warning remains in force for Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. The level of Derwentwater remains high at the Lodore gauge as a result of the persistent rainfall on Friday 08/02/2019. Some further rain is expected overnight from Friday night into Saturday morning. Consequently the land around the lake may remain flooded. We expect the level in the lake to respond to further rainfall therefore this warning remains in force for Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. The lake level has risen at the Lodore gauge as a result of Storm Erik causing very heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and land is expected through the morning. We expect the level in the lake to continue to rise throughout the afternoon, and to peak at around 5 to 6 pm at approximately 1.9m. Further rain is expected overnight so levels are expected to remain high into tomorrow, Saturday 09/02/2019. Low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site is affected. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near the lake, which may be flooded. Lake levels are slowly falling, and will continue to do so over the coming days with high pressure dominating the weather and no rainfall forecast. Lake levels are slowly falling, and will continue to do so over the coming days with high pressure dominating the weather and no rainfall forecast. Rainfall overnight and through Wednesday morning means that the lake level remains above the flood warning threshold. We currently forecast that Derwent Water will peak at 1.97m at the Lodore gauge, around 18:00 on Wednesday evening. With very minimal rainfall forecast for the remainder of the week, lake levels will steadily fall from Wednesday evening. We currently forecast that lake levels will fall below the flood warning threshold on Thursday morning. The Environment Agency are continuing to monitor the situation and expect to remove the flood warning on Thursday morning.

Following the rain we have experienced over the last few days, Derwentwater Lake level is continuing to rise. We are expecting further rainfall overnight, Monday into early hours Tuesday morning, and there is the potential for some heavy showers between 22:00 Monday 12/11/18 and 04:00 Tuesday 13/11/18. We are currently expecting the lake to reach flood warning level at around midnight and is expected to peak around 06:00 on Tuesday 13/11/18. We continue to monitor the situation and will update if the situation changes.

Over the last 12 hours we have seen heavy rainfall over Cumbria Catchments, this has meant Lake Levels have now started to rise. The Flood Warning level of 1.8 metres has been reached and the current forecast is that the Lake Level will continue to rise to an estimated 2.5m between 17:00 and 20:00 this evening.
