River levels have risen at the Appleby river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected between 06:00 and 07:30 today, 22/02/20. low lying areas adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. River levels have peaked and will remain high but steady at the Appleby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Low lying areas are at risk adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. Further showers are expected today, 16/02/2020, but no further impact is forecast at this time. We are closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes.

River levels are raised at the Appleby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying land and roads is possible Sunday morning 16/02/20. Low lying areas are at risk adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. After peaking during Saturday night, the river will respond to some further rain early Sunday 16/02/20 and will again rise before peaking at 11:00 am Sunday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying roads and footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated on Sunday afternoon, or as the situation changes.

River Eden
River levels have risen at the Appleby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying land and roads is expected around midnight tonight 15/02/20. Low lying areas are at risk adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. The river will be at it’s highest around midnight when it will start to recede. Due to some further rain forecast overnight the river will again rise to a similar level before receding at 10:00 hours tomorrow morning. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying roads and footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

River levels have peaked at the Appleby river gauge and are starting to fall. We are expecting the river to return to normal levels by approximately 20:00 on 9th February 2020. Areas that remain affected are those adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. Further showers are forecast throughout the night but we are not expecting this to cause any further issues. Our incident response staff are in the area and carrying out operational activities. Areas that remain affected are those adjacent to the River Eden at Bolton, including Bolton Bank Caravan Park, Bolton Mill, The Cottage and Stables. Further showers are forecast throughout the night but we are not expecting this to cause any further issues. Our incident response staff are in the area and carrying out operational activities. Thursday 23 November is expected to be drier than Wednesday although some showers are still expected. River levels remain high, but have started to fall. We will continue to monitor river levels and will update this message in due course or if the situation changes.

Further rain is expected throughout this evening into the morning of Thursday 23 November. The River Eden has risen throughout the day and we expect it to rise up to a further metre in the Bolton Area, and peak around 4am. The Environment Agency continues to monitor the situation and will update this message when the situation changes.
