Rising river levels this morning may lead to flooding of low lying land and roads. Flooding is possible from 2:00 PM on 23/08/2024 and levels are expected to be at their highest at around 5:00PM. Weather conditions are expected to improve throughout the morning and over the weekend. More rain is forecast for Sunday evening 25/8/24 into Monday morning 26/8/24.

Some further rainfall is forecast today, Thursday 23/05/2024 and overnight into Friday 24/05/24. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. River levels are still rising at the Linstock river gauge. Low lying land and roads in the Crosby-on-Eden, Linstock, Carlisle and Rockcliffe areas will be affected. Further light rainfall is forecast today 16/2/20. We expect the level of the river Eden to peak this morning at around 4.1m.

River levels have risen in the Eden valley as a result of Storm Dennis. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is likely overnight Saturday, 15/02/2020 into Sunday. Low lying land and roads in the Crosby-on-Eden, Linstock, Carlisle and Rockcliffe areas may be affected. High river levels are possible on the River Eden, River Caldew, River Petteril, Durranhill Beck, Brunstock Beck, Gosling Sike, Little Caldew, Parham Beck, Rockcliffe Beck and their tributaries. High river levels are possible on the River Eden, River Caldew, River Petteril, Durranhill Beck, Brunstock Beck, Gosling Sike, Little Caldew, Parham Beck, Rockcliffe Beck and their tributaries.
We may be issuing some Flood Warnings this evening for the Bitts Park and Rickerby Park areas of Carlisle. We expect river levels to remain high throughout Sunday 16/02/2020.

Following yesterday's heavy rainfall the River Eden levels remain high in the Carlisle area, however the levels will continue to fall throughout the day and into the evening of the 10/02/2020. We expect the River Eden to return to normal levels by approximately 22:00 tonight 10/02/2020. Low lying land and roads in the Crosby-on-Eden, Linstock, Carlisle and Rockcliffe areas may be affected.
