Low lying land and roads in Tebay, Sedbergh, Dent, Barbon, Kirkby Lonsdale and surrounding areas. High river levels are possible on the Rivers Lune, Rawthey, Clough and Dee and their tributaries. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 3 hours and throughout the weekend. We expect river levels to remain high overnight and into the morning on 22/02/2020. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. High river levels are possible on the Rivers Lune, Rawthey, Clough and Dee and their tributaries. River levels have peaked and will remain steady, with no further rise forecasted. Heavy and persistent rain is expected across parts of Northern England on Wednesday before gradually easing during Wednesday night. Heavy rain will gradually clear eastwards during the early hours of Thursday morning. There remains some uncertainty with regards to the exact location of the heaviest rain. Heavy rain will be accompanied by strong winds across many parts of the county. River levels have risen slightly through today but will rise again this evening as further rain falls. River levels are expected to peak later on Thursday morning. We will continue to monitor the situation.
