River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Derby Bridge Street river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are properties off Brook Street, Little Bridge Street, Bridge Street, Darley Bank student accommodation, Lens Road and Markeaton Lane. Ashbourne Road Allotments and the Scout Group building off Watson Street, Willowbrook Stables and Markeaton Park are also likely to become affected.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast.
