River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Shipley Gate river gauge as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Pinxton, including the Pinxton Wharf access road, Langley Mill, Ilkeston, Stapleford, and the recreation area at Sandiacre. No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until this evening, 27/10/2019. We are closely monitoring the situation.
